Default How soon should a motor be started after build?

Kindof a wierd question, but is there a general rule of thumb as to how long a newly built motor can sit without being started? My motor was built about a month and a half ago, and the guy I paid to finish the project has seemingly forgotten about me, and I don't know when I'll have the money to pay for the startup tune and Hondata install anyway, so I'm wondering if it'll hurt anything if it sits for say, another 4-6 months? The motor is dry, with no coolant or oil in it....
