I'm having an argument with an accord guy who wants to swap a b18c5 engine into an accord and I'm trying to tell the guy not to waste his money on that kind of swap. Also what is the minimum weight for a 4th gen dx accord and 5th gen dx? thanks for your response, guys.

not to bash... but that guy is a moron.

a 97 accord cpe weighs in@ 2965... so it could easily be 500 lbs heavier than the ITR's.

the accord already suffers from lack or torque.... and putting an engine that has even less torque would be stupid. i know the c5 has great top-end but around town that doesnt help a heavier car like the accord. not to mention that he's going to need custon engine mounts, axles, etc. it's a stupid thing to attempt IMO.

just tell him to get an H22

Yep thanx, I've been also trying to tell him to go with the h22a1. A lot cheaper, a lot more common, a lot simpler to swap, heck, what else do you want?????

 

yah.. price... big big defference.

you can buy two h22a1 motors for the price of one b18c5
