If you are referencing a physically complete engine and already have a B series engine in your car, then you'll just need the longblock, if you want a complete swap you'll just have to buy an LS or B16 complete swap, and then buy the B20 longblock.

so its gonna cost a good 3-4k for a complete b20vtec...then i could sell of the b16/b18 block and other componets unused.

Is the vtec gain worth it?? what kind of potential does a b20 have non vtec....ive seen some numebrs but cant remember if it was NV or V but with a few bolt ons it was running 170+whp 150tq

Personally, I wouldn't even consider running this setup without having it properly built from the get go. In order to really take advantage of the rev potential of the B series head, you'll have to have the crank balanced, and run lighter and better balanced forged internals. You should also take the opportunity to raise the compression significantly. If it were me, I'd go ahead and have the block sleeved.

money is a lil low...thats why i turned to the b20, because of its low cost, but it seems to get a well prepped b20 you need some cash flow.

with the new b series head...wouldnt that raise the compression up a significant amount?

use this link it is your friend

<<<click on the smiley face

using either a b16/b17/ITR head will yield slightly higher compression numbers
(all three of those heads are identical)

and by using a GSR head it will riase it a bit more
