I was thinking about going ls or b20vtec but people are telling me that they are not reliable. How long do they usually last?

how long is a peice of string...

could last a month, a year, a decade, comes down to how you drive it, what youvr done to it(turbo cams etc) and how many k's/miles it has, hondas are generraly pretty reliable cars, a stock standard engine not driven too hard i'd be sad if it didnt see 200,000 fairl easily up to 250,000 or more
hope that helped

My Integra had 280,000 miles on it before someone rear ended me and totaled it. The car ran perfect, idled fine had lots of power and didn't burn much oil.

im asking about lsvtec motors and b20vtec motors. I know the regular motors last a long time and take a lot of abuse. But Has anyone had expieriences with lsvtecs or b20vtecs?

The bad rap that ls vtec motors have gotten is mostly from people who don't know what they are doing. Poorly tuned, compression too high, too many short cuts. The same can be said for nitrous. Nitrous/lsvtec does not blow up motors idiots do. A well done properly maintained lsvtec/b20vtec will last a long time. Think about it, most people who are building an lsvtec are too cheap to buy a b18c where else might they cheap out. Dan

i am not doing it cause im cheap. Im doing it because of the power they make. I have a b16 now. The only reason im thinking bout changing to b20vtec is to get more power. I am also planning on spraying the motor. I have a greddy e-manage so the car will be tuned.

spraying the motor ???? Say what, do you mean nitrous? I personally like a sleeved ls block the b20 sleeves are fragile. Set your compression conservitive 10.5 to 11.0 arp rod bolts, don't cut any corners and you should have a keeper. Dan

ls vtec and b20 vtec are not comparable as far as reliability goes. I am with Dan Ruddock on this one resleeve and do 84 or 85mm on an ls block. Don't build a b20 (unless u sleeve it too.)
