did a lot of searching and it says that you use a voltmeter to adjust the throttle position sensor. i'm very stupid with it comes to electronics and such. can someone help me? also, what is it that you're suppose to do with the TPS? just move it around? i dunno...

 

If you look at the TPS, you'll notice its held on by rivets, or break away bolts I belive they are called. What you need to do is get a Dremmel to slot the rivets in order to use a flathead screwdriver to loosen them up.

What car is this for?

96-00 Civic and 98-00 Integra = Grn/blk is ground, Red/blk is output
92-95 Civic (and I assume 94-97, but I don't have that Helms manual) = Grn/wht is ground, Red/blu is output

With the key-on/engine-off (and idle), you should measure .45v. Now, hopefully you have NOT messed with the throttle plate stop screw....if you have, this directly affects the TPS output and thus needs to be reset before messing with the TPS itself.

 

i have a 96 civic. where do i measure? the wires that are suppose to conect to the TPS? BTW, i got the TPS off already.

You weren't suppose to take it off, just loosen the screws and rotate.

You can use the wires specified to make your measurement....thats why I gave them to you.

 

If you took it off you will need to adjust the voltage...
