how do sway bars work?
That article is actually kind of off...I haven't seen that occur on that web page before.
The roll of the car doesn't really have much to do with the weight distribution. You could set up a car such that it rolls the totally opposite way, but weight distribution will remain more or less unchanged.
They also omit another fundamental function of sway bars, but perhaps someone else should explain that...
Roll is bad. It tends to put more weight on the outside tires and less weigh on the inside tires, reducing traction. It also messes up steering. What you would like is for the body of the car to remain flat through a turn so that the weight stays distributed evenly on all four tires.
