How come....
How come the Castol GTX 10w30 dino oil in my beater, a 1985 Chevy Celebrity 2.8 v6, is cleaner when its time to do a oil change then my 2000 Type R? I change the oil at the exact same time on both cars - 3200 km's. On the beater I use Castrol GTX and on the R, its Mobil1 Synthetic.... I mean the beater has 192,453 km's on it, my R, 52,234 km's, you would think will all those k's the oil would need to be changed more often.....
Is it the higher revs on the B18c5 as compared to the beater motor?????
Just something I was curious about.

the oil in the R is getting hotter. Why? because the oil is getting squirted onto the bottom of 4 hot *** pistons. I bet the factory oil cooler is thermally maxed out. Maybe consider adding an oil cooler, change the oil sooner, or using a "racing oil" like redline, amsoil, royal purple, etc....... OR dont worry

Change oil sooner???? I changed it at 3200 km's.... Racing Oil??? I use Mobil1 Synthetic w/syntec.... The R already has a oil cooler.... I dont drive the car that hard...

i wouldnt worry too much the type r is a harder working car without u even pushing it. i had the same thing with my CRX and my chevy s10. i ran havoline 10w 40 in both and the crx oil was always far dirtier than the trucks was. well even though i didnt run either car really hard the fact is that the crx motor just works harder. runs higher temps, higher rpm, and higher oil pressure.
either way i wouldnt worry too much unless your oil is coming out a really dark black or a nasty brown.
