Default how to clean inside of engine?

Ok, so say you *accidentally* think you *might* have gotten a bit of aluminum shavings in the head of your engine while the cam cover was off. Some *might* have gotten into the intake side of the head as well which the intake runners and throttle body were off. What is the BEST way to go about it? We aren't talking alot here, at most a pinch. (think of a pile of it, then putting two fingers into the pile and grabbing a pinch)

Serious help is needed, is this something to worry about?

Are you saying cleaning it without taking the engine apart? I would suggest a shop vac with a good attachment, carb cleaner, an old toothbrush, and an oil system flush.

I wouldnt really worry about it. Aluminum is pretty soft and will most likely just blow out the exhaust. Think about it, a piece of aluminum shaving rubbing agianst a steel wall wont do much. I would try to get as much out as you can but dont go crazy over it.

Well, I've decided I'm going to put in some oil, and do a motor flush when I finally get the engine back in the car. Hopefully, this will be all it needs. If not.........damn......I'm going to have to start walking.
