Default How to clean coolant from oil/ block???

had a head gasket blow out on me and now i have coolant from the oil pan and up to the valve train. i removed the head and oil pan to begin the cleaning process but how can i get all the gunky coolant from outside of cylinder walls and the oil pick up area? any ideas? i really don't want to tear down the whole motor.

A spray can of contact cleaner or brake parts cleaner should work well.

Your local auto parts store may have some kind of gunk cleaner that you can put into your engine. Reinstall everything, pour the gunk cleaner into your motor through the oil filler hole, start engine and warm it up to normal operating temp, turn off engine and then drain your oil. All the coolant and gunk will then drain out of your engine. make sure you read the directions carefully when doing this and also make sure you have at least half the required oil inside your motor. you don;t wanna start your motor with just the gunk remover chemical.
