Default How to check coolant temp sensor?

I have no helms manual, i'm trying to find out if there is anyway to check the coolant temp sensor. thanks

there is a one wire connector on the bottom of the head that runs the guage. a two wire connector on the t stat housing that runs the fans.

the sensor that reads the coolant temp
there are two - one that tells the ECU what temp(ECT) and the other for teh cluster gauge.

to test the ECT one, it should read about 1000 ohms at 100'F

Now that you have the resistance specifications from Chris, if you need to check the calibration, I put them in a pan of water with a thermometer on the stove. gradually heat and compare resistance with your thermometer of choice. I use a refrigeration dial type thermometer.
