I've done in-car ring and valve jobs with bottle brush hones like than and they have worked fine. I am not sure what size you need, there should be dimensions on the package of the hone. Be sure you are getting the proper grit for the rings you are using - if you don't use the right grit you either risk having your rings not sealing or the rings getting chewed up by a cylinder wall surface that is too rough. The ring manufacturer should be able to give you specs.
take it to a proffesional you never want to skip out on the machine work. You'll regret when you have blowby after 5000 miles and you won't get the right cross hatching when doing it with a drill hardly any material will be removed and not allowing your rings to seat the best. and we are talking thousandths of an inch not mm when honing cylinders to there spec.
if my bore is 81mm will i need an 82 mm "hone bottle"? im not planning taking off any metal just scratching it up. ill take the drill up and down 10 times. hardly any material will be lost
