Honda's ZC engine??????
I recently read in the Jackson Racing catalog about a Honda engine called the ZC. I have never heard of this engine before. All J.R. had to say about it was that it is a non-VTEC DOHC widely used in Europe and Japan, but has become a popular swap in the states. Does anybody know anything about this engine. I am very interested to know the displacemnet, horsepower, torque, etc, etc.. for this engine.
I have one in my car. It is a 1.6L dohc non-vtec motor. It is rated at 130hp and 108 lb/ft of torque. It comes from the european and jdm civic si. It is pretty quick and good for low 15's in the quarter mile. I have seen some run in the 14's. It will bolt right into the 88-91 civic/crx and match up with the stock tranny. There is a pretty good selection of parts for it, if you look hard enough. What else do you want to know?

Anyone know the code for the 1st-gen 1.6L DOHC (non VTEC) Integra motor rated at 118hp?
Ok let me clarify this:
The JDM ZC motor was just that, a "ZC", no numbers, no D-anything, just "ZC". The 1G USDM Integra used a D16A1 DOHC 1.6, the D16A6 was the 88-91 Civic/CRX Si SOHC engine. The D16A8/9, just like the D16A1 are basically twins of the JDM ZC (DOHC 1.6L engines) destined for other countries. But the actual JDM ZC is just that, ZC

91civic, Do you know if the ZC would fit in an automatic '94 Civic EX? And do you know if they made the ZC longer than to '91. Jackson Racing says it was in production until '98, but I havn't found anything newer than '91 anywhere else.

But don't swap in a ZC if you already have an ex. Sure there is DOHC tunability, but in stock form a ZC only has 5 more ponies than your ride.
Yea, don't waste your time for a 5 hp increase. Go for either a b16 or a b18 swap. You will be much happier with one of those.

thanx guys. I wasn't real serious about the ZC, just curious. Doing a swap is a little down the road for me. I had just never heard of the ZC and it caught my interest. Thanx for all of your help.
