Default Honda flywheel weights

Could some give a definative answer to the F.W. weights of an ITR and GSR? Possibly refer to a site with these specs. Tnx

I seem to recall reading that the GSR FW is 14.5 Lbs and the ITR 12 Lbs. Someone Im purchasing an ITR wheel from said that they are about 5 lbs heavier than I thought. Just trying to get the #s right. Tnx

FYI: I just switched over to a Type-r Flywheel from a GS-R one....the GS-R flywheel was almost 18 lbs and the Type-R was almost 15 lbs..but the 3 lbs was taken off the outer part of the flywheel where it matters the most.

Was it worth it? I'm looking into maybe upgrading the FW also. did it make a huge difference? Thanks

Yes....I think it was well worth it...I got mine for $100. I heard that for every pound you take off your flywheel is like taking 10 pounds off of your car.

Yeah, well actually, not exactly so. I remember the guys in SCC coming up with a formula to calculate those gains, but I don't remember when. You will feel the gains mostly in 1st gear, in 2nd gear, divide by at least 2, and so forth for every higher gear. 3 pounds should make a difference in 1st and 2nd gear, but you should hardly feel any difference in 3rd, 4th and 5th.

I have a 7lb fw and it helped my revs tremendously. They rise and fall very quick. It helped through 1-4 of my short b16 gears.

Ooh Baby! 7lbs... I believe you. I have a 10 pound fw down from 20, and I too was amazed with the progress it gave. I can just imagine what it would be with a 7 pounder. Tell me, what was the OEM weight? Any downsides at all with the 7 lbs, like a rough idle?

Its a clutchmasters for a b16. Apprx. 7-8 lbs. I vibrate a bit idling but im having some small idle problems right now anyway because of o2 problems but even with that its not bad at all. I love the thing.

How much of a difference do you think I'd feel from a stock 18#'s to 12.5? I'm still thinking about the aftermarket flywheel with the new clutch package that I'm going to install in the next couple of days?

The ITR flywheel is 15lbs. If you look at the flywheel it actually has a little raised marking on it that says "15". And just as the guy in a previous post says, it ways almost 15lbs.

I didn't put either on the scale, but the R flywheel feels much lighter then a B16A flywheel.

You should feel a difference comin down to 12 lbs. If youve got the money id say why not go a little lighter. I wouldnt hurt. I purchased mine off ebay for 275$ + shipping.

I have a cm stage 4 clutch bolted onto this and i thought i was going to have a very hard time daily driving but its not bad at all. I just have to keep my revs up a little more to get it to catch without jerkin my head back lol.
