I have my vafc siting around however I have yet to install it since I am a little bitch that doesnt wnat to molest his stock harness. So I was tooling around at the "yard" today when I came across an obd 1 ecu and harness that i decied to pilage for my gain. Take a look...

Now my question is, would it be possiable for me to make a homemade fields vafc plug and pray harness? I was thinking with desodering the conection plugs on the board side I would be able to run the wires to the proper places and make it as if it was just a bridge betwenn the stock harness and the ecu. Please give me thoughts on weather or not this would work or what I may need to get it to work. HUGE thanks in advance to those that share their insights/knoweldge!

 

you need the car side harness too. people have made them before.

 

When you say car side which plugs are you refering to? The only other plugs I can think of are the external plugs outside of the firewall that the main engine harness plugs into. Hopefully that is a clear explination.

EDIT: I do ahve the plugs that go to the ecu (that is what the wires are sticking out of) is that what you are refering to? I am going to take a pic.

Update I have the plugs off the main board....

This was a little more trouble than I expected it to be and I ended up cutting off the pins rather than desodering them since both sides of the board were sodered. now its just matching the proper pins back up for my setup and adding the proper ones as well soder then pray. Fun stuff.
