high idle issue
i have a del sol with a b18c1 freshly rebuilt and put back in the car....the problem im having is a high idle.
first when we put the motor back in it had a real bad sporadic idle but that has since gone away (after replacing the throttle body gasket) right after we replaced the gasket we were getting a leak from where the throttle body meets the intake manifold.
Now im not getting a leak from the throttle body anymore but the car is idling around 2000rpms, which I know is usually a vacuum leak.
My question is, the distributor still needs to be timed, I got a timing light today and plan to do it tonight, if the distributor is too far advanced or out of time could that cause it to idle high? Or should I keep searching for another vacuum leak along with timing it?
