Default High compression valve cover gasket...

Worth it?

Copper or rubber?

Performance? - I know I won't be able to feel the slight gain, but will the engine even? Thanks.

I assume you mean head gasket, since the valve cover doesn't effect compression ratio. It's probably not worth the trouble to pull the head off just to change it, but if you are pulling the head anyway... you won't notice much of a difference, I'd say maybe 5 - 10 HP at most.

Yeah, I ment head gasket. 5 - 10 hp gain, I think that sounds worth it!?

Ah, I will have it installed when I have my new engine dropped in.

I use a copper valve cover gasket- I run 36 pounds of crankcase pressure- anyone know where I can get a Titanium PCV valve?

Um 5-10 HP??? No... Keep smoking what ever your smoking... Better yet, give me some...

HAHAHA. not even worht the money for maybe, at most 1 HP gain. if you want to raise your commpression ratio, you will need a thiner head gasket. this is a useless mod unless you've blown a head gasket. until it "blows" leave it alone and save up for when it does go bad.

So what is the consensus here? I have a 2000 GSR with I/H/E, and want to do the following:

CTR Cams
Cam Gears
Valve Springs
TI Retainers
Mugen Head Gasket
ARP Head Studs

The head gasket claims to bump the CR by .4. I have to think this alone would give at least a couple HP's. I also want to up up the redline to 8400 to take advantage of the full strength of the cams. What's the easiest way to do this? I guess the VAFC is in order here too...

I am getting a new engine soon, and I got to thinking since I will be getting a previous japanese used engine, I need new gaskets, why not performance. I just wanted to know if it would be worth it.
