Default Hideous Nosie from tranny?

When I turn my car on (at idle) I hear some grinding/scraping noise. Also, when I shift gears, usually from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd I hear the same noise. Today, when I was driving home from work I was at a stop light and it sounded like something snapped or broke and my car hopped forward like it was about to stall.

What could be the problem? Tranny? Clutch? Thanks for the advise.

could this be a solution?

sounds like you're having the exact same problem as me. It may be your clutch master or slave cylinder. check to see if the master has fluid, if it's low, fill it up, take the cap off the slave cylinder and pump the clutch just like you would if you were bleeding brakes. once fluid comes out and you regain pressure in the clutch pedal, cap the slave cylinder and that should do it.

hmm if its clicking and sounds like its hitting something.. most likely its going to be a bent fork, or loose fork, or a messed up release bearing. All these would cause a clanking noise as you describe. Basicaly it sucks but should be looked at ASAP.
