okay .long story short, i picked up a 97 civic coupe from long island the other night. turned the key, started right up and drove it home. it took me 2 hours and not one problem. i get it home for the weekend and do some basic repairs, brakes, rotors, oil change etc. so yesterday i tried to start the car but it took a while, it kept cranking but didnt turn over for a while. when it finally did, i began to drive but every time i shift from gear to gear it runs rough, as if its about to run out of gas and shut off. it's like that feeling when u dont give the car enough gas and are about to stall. the car starts surging and jumps back and forth. so i thought maybe it needed a little more oil so i added half a quart since i only put 3 and a half when i changed the oil. the car ran fine that whole day. then this morning, i turned the key and everything was good. car started up fine and drove fine for like 2 blocks and started doing it all over again. i opened the hood and checked the throttle response and it seemed kinda late. and whats the average idle for this car? when it was doing the surging thing, it was idling at around 800 rpms. PLEASE HELP im stumped and i wanna fix this since this is my daily

nahh no codes . no idea when last full tune up was done . i checked the spark plugs and they seemed kinda old and rusty . so imma change those and see how eberything goes
