help wire up my VAFC

help wire up my VAFC
alright i had a quick question about two wires on the ecu side. the vtec solenoid signal and the pressure sensor wire. the manual says to cut the wire going to the ecu and the connectors and then it explained which side should have the male/female connectors. this is were i got confused. what i got from it is that i cut the wire and connect one wire to the side still connectod to the pin and the the other wire connected to the car side. is this correct? if i confused someone please explain this in your on words.

finished wiring it up last night. that **** works like a charm. it was pretty easy only took me about 30 minutes. thanks for the help.
