----MY Motor is still breaking up in 4th gear in vtec!!!!----

i have a b16 with TODA B cams with p28 chipped and vafc.

when im at the track and i run to 4th gear it tends to break up in 4th gear, especially in vtec which kicks in at 7k. it does it even when i add more fuel which sucks. i have a wideband going in soon, but i know it will still do it.

It did it with stock injectors, stock pump and FPR. and still does it with 310 injectors and bigger pump now and AEM fpr. I also changed my cap, rotor, and fuel pump.

Denso plugs gapped at .035, (was at .030)


Has anyone had this problem? could it be missing up top? thanks for any info

It could be many things, and you need to make sure you have a good tune before making any assumptions.

 

LOL, i knew you were gonna say that. But it did it before and after all the fuel upgrades as well as tune up.

no matter how much fuel i add, it still breaks up in 4th gear when im running at the track.

my timing is 18 degrees and have ran it at 16 and 17 degrees as well. my fuel pressure is fine.

i will be putting in the wideband this week, but pretty sure the problem will still continue. i used to have an MSD 6a years ago. not sure if that weaked the coil by taking it out.
