Default help tranny experts

I have been trying to build this custom b16 hydro trans for awhile now and seem to keep running into problems. The current problem is this- while checking the diff thrust clearance, I noticed that the enclosed bearing was pressed to far down the carrier shaft of the diff. I used a bearing puller at a honda dealership to pull it up
about a 1/8" inch. The tech there said there isn't much force that pushes the bearings down the shafts and that it should be fine. Well, while trying to put it all back together and finding the right diff thrust clearance and buying a special order shim, when putting the diff back in the bearing slid back down the shaft right up against the carrier.
Does anyone know if I could shim under that bearing or something like that to keep it from ******* with the thrust clearance?

Thanks for any help.
