Default HELP: timing question

im just wondering whats the correct timing for a 94 integra gsr? i took my car in to get it smog and it failed so i looked over the result and it says my timing is at 18. A lot of people have told me that the correct spec is at 14 so i called a local shop that specialize in fixing honda's and he said 18 is about right. So who knows the real answer to my question? I've search and found only one thread about it and on that thread it says the correct timing is at 16 so im confused. Please help, thanks.

It has little to do with emission timing. Yeah, 18 is correct. Try to lean your idle a/f mixture by turning the idle screw at throttle body counter clockwise about half the srew radius. Tune up your car. Change its oil and change spark plugs.Clean distributor contact points as well.
