help!! stuck axel!
so my tranny took a dump on me 2 days ago, so i am in the process of replacing it. it is a d16a6 tranny. i decided it was time to replace everything else that goes along with the tranny such as axels and clutch. so the old tranny is out, flywheel has been resurfaced and put back on, and the clutch is on. heres the problem: the driver-side axel is stuck in the wheel hub assembly (i think thats what it is called). i have replaced several sets of axels before, and they were nothing like this. i have been beating on it and trying to pry it out. any help would be great!
Get an air hammer if you have a compressor or go to a friends. Be careful they are VERY dangerous don't get playful or curious with them (I know, lol!) Put tip of air hammer in the hole in center of axle (while pushing firmly in) and activate hammer for short burst. Should be out in a jiffy!
The bolt is off right? If it is then DAMN! If that didn't work I would just give up and get a new knuckle along with the axles. Either way good luck! I think you gonna need it.
