Default HELP... Solenoid- B18/rex

i just went to the smog ref (california) and im having a hell of a time trying to pass smog with the 91 B18a in my 89 REX... the ref said that my engine doesnt have the "pressure regulator cut-off solenoid valve" which is not required on honda's but is required for acura engines.... now, when i went to get this 2nd solenoid installed, there is no plug to run the solenoid line into because it is a honda.... what do i need? do i need a new ECU? if so, what kind would be best? thank you!

Is it possible he's talking about the purge control solenoid? If so, get one from an integra and throw it in there with the proper vacuum lines and fake some wiring. Theres really no way he can tell whether its working or not, he's just failing you on the visual inspection.

no its not the purge solenoid valve... its the other one... honda only uses the purge, but acura engines require both... but im wondering how so many people out there with the same engine swap as me, managed to get the second solenoid on and working...

this is BS. Acuras do not require it. The deal here is that LS motors need it and vtec motors and i guess single cam motors dont. I have a b16a in my 90 integra and i took off that solenoid which was needed for my b18a. That guy doesnt know what hes talking about. There is 1 wire that runs to the ECU for it i think. I bet this is commonly overlooked so people pass without it all the time and i cant see how it could effect your smog test results besides visual. I think the wire is on C9 on the ECU but im not sure. Id have to dig up my old diagrams.

well, thanks for your input... anything helps at this point... im just mad because if i take it to one place, they end up sending me somewhere else because none of these "mechanics" know a ****** thing..... but apparently i actually do need a 2nd solenoid on there to pass smog.. why? i have no ******* clue.. the smog ref can blow me, along with the ******* "green peace" california government that requires these bullshit smog laws...i may jus do it the illegal way.. anyways, any input is greatly appreciated.. thanks guys..
