Help: Radiator fan

For a while now my radiator fan hasn't been turning on (6 months to be exact). A few days ago I recharged my A/C and let the car run for a while. To my delight, the radiator fan finally turned on...but only when the A/C compressor fan turned on. Does anybody know why it does this and how I can fix it? TIA

You may want to do the fan switch test........ On my lude, I would just ground the wire coming from the fan switch (on the dist side of the head). You should check a manual, or a friends. Look for the fan switch on the head...
