Default Help please, radiator prob.

Sorry to be an idiot, but I need help.

Today at the track I ran my car, everything fine the first run. Then right after the second run there was no wait so they made us go again. When I was waiting in the line for the 4th time my radiator over flow container started boiling over. What does that mean? did I have to much fluid in the car? My whole engine area was really hot, but the temp. guage was at normal did not go up, and it should not be broke if I watched it warm up prier to racing.

it was only doing this from the overflow container, the radiator hoses where hot the head was real hot the intake was even hot to the touch. after it over flowed a little and cooled off abit it did not do it again. I did not run it anymore and I carefully drove it home.

this should help:

I have a B16a in a 90 dx hatch.
with 90dx radiator. I/E. the car has been running really rich.

HELP please!!! I am a loser, on a side note I pulled a 14.9 at 94 mph

maybe you've got too much water in your coolant. coolant is designed not to boil

I thought about that, but I donot know the % of each you are suppose to put in.

If that is the problem does anyone know if that could hurt the engine. Remember the Temperature gauge did not get hot. It just started coming out of the overflo container. THe whole engine bay compartment was pretty hot. But it drives fine.

It was right after to consecutive runs at the track.

I use a 50/50 mix of coolant and water. You can buy it pre-mixed down at the local parts store. I have used the pre-mixed stuff in my car and never had a problem with it.

It is 4.8 quarts for the dx radiator. Plus you are supposed to fill the resovoir halfway between the min and max line.

Try changing your radiator cap to a 1.3bar one.
