Default help this noobie>>>>choice of engine

i have a 97 integ and plannin on an engine swap but don't kno which engine to go for if i want power and value( the most important things is that i don't kno if it fits)

all comes wit complete swap (thatz what they said)
h22a>$1850>200hp>prelude
b18c5>$4200>195hp>type-r
b18c1>2800>170hp>gsr

one look at it tells me go for the h22a but does it fit into my integ and if so what do i need. will my car be fast if i have a h22a or a b18c1 becuz of the weight differences
thanx!

Get the B18C5. It's that simple.

The 200 hp H22 isn't worth it in the weight department.

That and the C5 is a strait swap. with a little wiring.

Make your own decisions

If you don't do the research on the engine and find out what you want, then don't even ask. It's just a typical newbie question..

instead of doing a completeType R swap or any other swap why not open up your ls motor put some nice high comp pistons new rods, vtec head with some Jun cams and full valvtrain. Basicly a built ls/vtec ul rock a stock type r motor il tell you that right now.

That's what he is doing. Researching / asking our opinions since he is new to this. (Or so it seems)

I would go with the C5. But all depends on your budget and what your plans are for the car. Good Luck.

You could build the ls-vtec to be an all motor beast or you could build it with low comp. pistons and boost the H3LL out of it... it depends on how much you want to spend and how fast you want to go.... "must set goals"...

my philosophy in life is, if you can afford a B18c5 swap, do it and dont look back, i love those motors...

B18C , LS/CRVTEC , B16A = torqueless cheap , H22 = just a gay motor

First of all the guy can't even spell. Second of all, there has been so many goddamn questions exactly like this that it's getting annoying. He posted this in another forum too, in case you didn't notice.

EVERY bit of information he is trying to figure out has been talked about here on H-T.

"will my car be fast" ? How retarded is that. Was I a little harsh with him? I'm sure if I hurt his feelings he can stand up for himself. Shove the 's up your ***.

Oh yeah, what the extra 20 lb/ft of torque turn the B18C into a tire shredding, tranny destroying, ToRQue MoNSter yO. Damn, I am scared to know what a car with real torque would be.

for you informative post

I think that ythe b16 is a great motor. I take ITRs with my EK hatch with a b16 in it. Stock for stock. I also have a b18 but I like my b16. Focker takes a beating and keeps going.
