Help a noob out?
I recently purchased a '95 eg coupe with a b18 swap. I know the USDM motors are b18b1 and JDM are just b18b.
Mine's b18b-
I feel like it's a JDM and the - is just to separate the engine serial/ID. I'll upload a picture. Can someone confirm which it is for me?
Ditto the above the B18B1 is the USDM and CDM engine, the B18B- is JDM or the Australian 94-2000 Honda Integra and has higher compression ratio 9:4:1 compared to the USDM and CDM ratio of 9:2:1, also a different tune so more HP and torque. 94
I guess the hyphen threw me off. All the other JDM stamps I've seen were sans hyphen. Also, I picked this car up for $2000 which made me think it may have been ground and fudged or something. And I'm super new to the Honda scene so I didn't know if it was some sort of anomaly
That is not a factory stamped hyphen... it is just a scratch. Don't read too much into it. B18B (JDM)... rated at 2 whole extra HP over a USDM engine.
