Default help.. new grinding sound....

i drove to riverside this weekend (a 2 hour drive) and i was driving pretty fast. the next day i started my car and when i turned the key the engine turned over but it also made a grinding sound like when ur car is already on and u turn the key. i decided to leave it alone and not mess with it. the next day my battery dies. so i jump start it and now all i get is the grinding sound. wont even turn over. so i replaced the starter, cap, and rotor. i jumpstarted it and same problem. nothing is fixed. im stuck and dont know what to do... siome one please help. thank you.

When you say "wont even turn over" you mean the starter motor doesnt turn?

is the grinding sound the gears grinding on each other, or an electrical 'eerrrr' sound?
