Default help my d16

I was driving to school and I was shifting from 3rd to 4th at about 5000. After though my car started pinging loud. I slowed down and about half a mile later it died. When I tried to start it again it seems like something is either grinding or really scratching. I'm not too bummed out though cause Im still going to get a b16 but I am curious to what happened to mine. Any suggestions.
(also my car was already pinging a little after 60 mph and it has a little more than 200,000 miles on it)

I know that sound...

its the sound of you crank colliding with your main bearing journals at 6000rpm
what is your oil level?
did you throw a vtec solenoid code?

stop driving your car.. and pull your oil pan and look for metal flakes.....
