Help with MSD 2Step Module (See Pic)
Hey, i was a little curious as to the correct way to set the msd step module up, i have worked with the Digital 6 in the past , but not the module. Note. this module is the one that plugs into the MSD 6AL box. Now i was just a little curious since the directions says some crap about line locks, and a clutch switch, .. well im not using line locks or a clutch switch, so can anyone tell me how this works? would be most apreciated, BTW, i have an Etown event sunday, help.. lol

no no no.... I have the MSD DIS-2(different story) but its the same...
This is what you have to do for this desired effect...
The way I have it setup is.... I have a primary toggle switch(on/off)...when this switched off I can rev to my second rev limiter(top end) when its on... the ground continues(but is not grounded) to my clutch switch. Your car has a factory clutch switch on it. So when the clutch is fully depressed the ground is completed....activating the lower rev limiter(two-step). Soo when you rev to launch...your stage limiter kicks in ...say 5500 bwap bwap bwap bwap etc. then you dump the clutch and hammer the gas. As soon as the clutch switch goes off(you let off the clutch) the ground is disconnected and your MSD immediatly goes to your secondary limiter.
If you want to do a burnout for the pits...simply flip the toggle off and rev to desired rpm.
To wire this up...get an on off toggle switch..solder the MSD two step ground wire to the toggle, and then solder the other half(to continue to clutch switch) to the other side of the switch. then with the wire from the toggle run it into the negative lead BEFORE the clutch switch. That is it.
