Default Help with Innovative Mount install in an EK Civic

I got a set of Innovative Billet Mounts for my EK Civic. The driver-side mount doesn't look right. I think I did something wrong.

The polyurethane insert is narrower than the steel bracket, so there was a gap. when I tightened the main bolt, it bent the steel bracket inwards.

Is there supposed to be a gap between the bracket and the insert?

I also noticed that the rear engine mount is also narrower than the stock one. Thus, there would also be a gap. Is that how these mounts are supposed to be?

TIA.

Not sure what in the bloody hell is going on there that mount dose not even look like the correct one innovative would give out!

Normally there gray i believe mine was, and was a simple 5 min install!

However that bracket looks too big for the mount or might have even been moded a little bit were did you purchase this item from?

Mount looks a little small too!

I got the mounts from Spoolin Performance in the sponsor's section. I emailed them my concern and the picture above. They said it is a new design by Innovative Mounts to reduce vibration and that I tightened it too much.

Looks like the whole thing has to come off so I can bend the steel bracket back to it's original shape.

I'm not sure if the bushing should have been snug with the braket, but it surely shouldn't have bent the bracket it. If the bushing isn't snug within the bracket would there be too much vibration or engine movement? Did you try calling or e-mailing Innovative?

I emailed innovative. They said it doesn't look right and if I could ship the items to them. Darn, I live overseas and that would cost me $30.

I took a picture w/ measurements. Maybe they we can figure out which part, bracket or bushing, is not right. That way we can figure it out quickly and economically.

yeah its a little off, should be a little tighter tolerance, there was a mistake in manufacturing, you should put a rubber/urathane/steel/whatever spacer in there or send it back to innovative for a proper one. With the bracket bent like that it is more likely to break and fail...

Red is the 60a and the most soft offering they have however the gray one is the hardest offering they have

However to make things more complex they now have custom colors for an extra price however that’s another thread/story!
