Help identifying engine?
Can someone pls verify that this is a B16a? I believe it to be a B16a2, but I'm going to buy the car this car tuesday, assuming it is indeed a B16a. Appreciate any help.

1st gen B16a intake mani and fuel rail with resistor box in a crx. Pretty good chance the rest of it is as well.
90% of B16a say just that, B16a. The last digit doesn't mean much.
USDM 99-00 civic si was the only block labeled B16A2
USDM del sol was labeled B16A3

Thanks for the responses, I'm gathering there's a pretty good chance that this is what I'd hoped...and not something cheese like a D16 block with a b16 head. It was advertised as a B16a engine swapped into this crx. Thanks for the info guys.
That is an impossible combination. Judging by the looks of it it is an OBD-0 B16 Intake Manifold (one would assume matching head/bottom end) with a OBD-1+ valve cover (due to VTEC being bigger than DOHC). The distributor also looks to be OBD-0 as well. The only way to actually verify what block and head is to pull the numbers off of them. The cylinder head rill be right above the header flange. The engine block is the flat square piece about half way down the block where the transmission and engine meet. If you look in the picture you can see the ID square - it just barely touches the radiator fan.
