Default help i dont know whats wrong!

i drive a 90civic si with a sohc zc.

i jus changed my battery terminals and last night i was driving home and smelled something. popped my hood and saw my intake and postive terminal were arcing. i tried adjusting so i could drive home. when i got home 3 min later, the car was dying and losing power as i pulled into my driveway. my cluster lights turned on and went crazy. stopped the car and unplugged the neg. battery cable. took the intake off. and i saw my valve cover ground was totally fried and broken in half.

today i checked all my fuses and were good. tried starting her up, but only cranks. sometimes it would start and die right away. swapped a working battery, same result.

is it just the valva cover ground keeping my car frm starting?

I had the same situations couple years ago. I did the same thing, bought a new battery and alternator from Pepboys. Didn't want to start. So, checked all my fuses, it was good. Then, I started checking ALL my wires, and what I found....the 10 gauge wire from the alternator was fried and split in half, so there were no contact from each other.

oh thanks man. im gonna double check my wires righ tnow.

ok well i just put a new ground wire from the valve cover to the chassis. i just got a 10 awg and wrapped the wire around the bolt and bolted it down. hooked everything up. still nothing. it would crank and start and die. it would crank and nothing. and sometiems nothing at all.

in the on position, the cel isnt on. only the battery seatbelt and the regular stuff. also both my turn signal lights light up and stay on. when i click the hazard button, all i hear is a weird sound coming from the cluster or under my dash on the driver side. sound like a mechanical thing.

what would i do to the voltmeter? im taking my battery to the auto store to get it checked right now.

*edit: so the auto store is closed. i checked my alternator wires, they are still good. the sound i get from the hazard button is coming from a relay right above the fuses under the dash. i dont know if thats the main relay.

Might seem strange, but have your starter checked out. I had one on a DA integra that caused a complete loss in power, relays clicking randomly, and crank no start. Might be a long shot, but its worth checking out.
