HELP! Head Gasket Sludge.
Here is a picture of what I found when I removed the valve cover. Can anybody tell me what this is a product of, could it have caused damage to the engine? Is it worth going ahead and fixing the head gasket?

TIA

TIA
bring it to a machine shop and have them disassemble it, hot tank it, mill the head and reassemble it. It only cost me $60 at a machine shop in San Pablo.
If anything needs replacing, I have a extra head that is still complete. You need to swap over the internals though because the spark plug threads are fucked.

Ehh.... I would just try some seafoam if I were you.
I wouldn't spend too much money on that engine when you can find another for cheap.
I say run a bunch of seafoam through it and see if that helps.
