Default HELP!! Excessuve Crankcase PRESSURE!!!!!!!

My buddy's GSR Turbo'ed car is seeing excessive crankcase pressure. What causes it and how do we get rid of it. I was told that if it isn't fixed it will eventually lead to piston ring failure. It has been hondata tuned but about 3 weeks later it is idling abnormally and am seeing excessive oil from the breather filter on the valve cover. I was told an oil catch can will help. If so, how does it help? All your help and suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks guys.

Joe

Could be that you still have the original crankcase ventilation point which is on the intake pipe? If your using that point, then obviously the air inside the charge pipe is pressurised and is pressurising everything connected to it. Could reroute the vacuum hose to before the turbo, near the air filter.

If that applies to you hope it helps.

P.S. Yes a negative enviornment crankcase is very important to piston ring seal and lifespan.

Right now there isn't a crankcase ventilation point on the intake charge pipe. We just put a mini-filter on the valve cover nipple that used to run to the original crankcase ventilation point on the intake pipe.

Would rerouting the vacuum hose to the air filter pipe before the turbo, like what Westrock2000 said, be the key to eliminating my problem?

Thanks

i suggest a catch can inline between the valvecover to a point between the filter and turbo. this will catch most of the oil and will also be able to pull all that excessive vapor from the head allowing it to run better.

Have you checked the PCV valve? It could be leaking.
