Help with ecu codes/erratic idle
Okay my Check Engine light did NOT come on.
But my car has had an erratic idle at every rm range for like a year.
I tried to see if the ecu would throw out a code so I jumped the little plug and got no codes, but the CEL light stayed on and the SRS light blinked on and off repeatedly. Is this normal?
This idle problem isn't that big a deal to me, but I think it may be costing me gas mileage. With the AC on I can feel it the most, but it does it all the time. like I'll be going down the hwy (55mph) and it'll surge like 1 or 2 hundred rpms, then go back down. Nothing too bad. But at lower speeds (city driving) it's more noticeable and the car kind of lunges with the fluctuations. Anyone had any similar experiences?

Good sugguestion. I installed new NGK plugs about a month ago, and I've since checked them. They're good. However, I've just assumed that my Accel Thundersport wires are still good. They're 3 years old. I guess I'll replace them wih some NGK wires and see if the problem goes away. I don't see or hear a spark "escaping" but I guess it won't hurt to replace 3 year old wires.
