HELP CODE 91???

Default HELP CODE 91???

yeah i got aOBD2 96 civic hatchback and i just installed a 98 LS OBD2 engine in my car..next thing you know in a couple weeks check engine light comes on and i got a code 91??something with the fuel pump..if you guys can help a fellow h-t member that would be ..again thanks in advance!!

check your gas cap..if thats not it check your vac hose's going to the canister on the firewall near the battery.

You will need a gas tank with a pressure sensor built in (ex gas tank). You will also need a charcol canister with a purge release as ours don't have the purge solinoid. Wire it up and you should not have any problems. I just run with the code on. Too much damn trouble. You could also just go obd2-obd1 and get rid of the code that way. I have also heard 96 ECUs don't have this code, but could be wrong. I know for a fact the obd1 dont have that code

96 and up have the tank with the sensor.....most of the time its a leak in the vac lines going to and from the canister

96 and up EX have the sensor. The 96-98 dx,cx do not have the sensor. The 99- dx,cx have the sensor.

Well in Texas they do a obd2 test for the emissions. All I do is clear the code before they hook the scanner in and it tests all the sensors. The emission evaporative system comes up not ready but I have still passed 2 years in a row with this method. Don't know about your state. I have been driving on this code for 2 years now with no adverse affects.
