Default HELP! clank/click from tranny.

When I shift I get this metalic clicking. it sounds like its actually coming from the shifter. Its also very notchy shifting into gears. However, sometimes it'll just go away for 10 - 15 minutes and shift smooth as butter. I have the solo short shifter and neuspeed bushings. I had the shifter in for months w/o any problems, then it just started happening.
I checked the tranny fluid. It was very clean, but a little low, so I topped it off. It helped a very little, but not much.

Also, the car has 20,000 on it. Oh yeah, and I rarely slam it into gear, I usualy just slide it in slowly because I dont want to hurt anything.

check and see if its hitting your exhaust or the bushings are binding.
