Default help with 96 hatch w/ stripped steering wheel stud/post

hey guys, i have a 96 hb and the steering wheel post/stud is stripped out. its the stud that holds on the steering behind the airbag with the 19mm bolt holding it on. so its pretty important, lol. my question is- can the stud/post be unbolted from the steering column and replaced? and whats the proper name for it? thanks in advance if anyone knows.

I think you need to replace the whole column, I doubt you can replace just the "stud". I could be wrong though.

Is it just the threads that are stripped? If so have you tried to fix them with a die?
