Icon2 Hello, Car Lover Here, But a Beginner

Hello all. Just a quick background:
From Atlanta, Ga
19 Years Old.
I LOVE Cars and everything about them. I pretty much know the bare minimum, but I really want to get into the mechanical, detailed side of things and up my knowledge about these beautiful machines.
Currently own a '90 Accord Ex 2-door, everything stock.

My question is, Is there a place I can go on the forum to start reading about the basics, and learn the terminology such as cams, pistons, sparks, etc?
I know this is not something you can learn in one day, it's gonna take a lot of reading and focus, buy I'm willing to put in the work.
My goal is to be performing engine maintenance on older model hondas, acuras, toyotas, nissans, infinitis, and lexus by next summer, 2014. Any help is much appreciated!!!!!!!! Will be subbing to this thread so I can receive your responses.

Buy a factory shop/service manual and do your research. If you have to question anything Google search it and use the search bar on here before posting anything. Make numerous attempts at finding something out before posting. I'm quite active on the 90-02 Accord section so I'll be willing to help or answer any questions you may have. Welcome to H-T.

I will tell you your money is best spent on Amazon.com If you look in their book department for any particular subject matter (Say Honda B motors) you will find more than you could read in a long while and absorb. The Amazon site has the BEST readers feedback on the web for anything. Very professional and will help you decide on the matirial.
The ammount of information you must know to just be functionally literate in motor science discussion will be vast. Motor science tangents off into dozens of areas that you could invest a lifetime in (as some of us here have) and still be learning. Don't be discouraged, just dig in and choose a starting place.
