Default Headlight wiring harness DIY question

I'm looking at nokya headlight harnesses on ebay and other generic harness on ebay because I have a few friends that want to put in some nokyas and I know the factory harness needs to be upgraded. They are H4/9003 bulbs.

It looks like all they are are 3 strands of 14 guage wires connected to a HB2 male connector and HB2 female connector. Is this correct? If so, this means I can either get 3 dollar pigtails from autozone and go to radioshack and get the opposite end HB2 connector and connect?
or get 2 HB2 male connectors and 2 HB2 female connectors and 3 strands of 14 guage wire and put it together correct? All parts found at radioshack. Is this all that these 25 dollar harness are?does the 14 guage wire need to be a specific length? Thanks.
