Headgasket replacement on a 93 Si, where does everything go?
I blew the headgasket on my 93 Civic Si. So I thought it would be a good chance to completely take apart everything in my engine bay, clean it, and put it back together. Well everything is finally apart, and I'm in the middle of cleaning everything and ordering replacement parts and fasteners. Just one problem, the Helms manual doesnt have pictures of where every little hose and fastener is. I was hoping someone could post some pictures of their engine bay from a 92-95 Si or ex so that I could have a better referance. Especially the vacuum lines around the intake manifold. I was very stupid not to take some pictures of my engine bay before I started, but any help will be greatly appreciated.
This is what my engine bay looks like right now.

damn... your in a tuff situation..
next time make sure you know how to put everything back to spec and know what your doing. Maybe somone in you area could help you out. But i honestly don't think many people can walk you through it plug per plug..bolt for bolt.

you should of marked and tagged every bolt and nut and line you took off. so what did you learn from this?
he already said he checked HIS helms....
I'll take pics tomorrow if that'll help. don't have any right now.
Just fyi... it's all pretty tight as it is... it'd be pretty hard to get any line to go to the wrong hole... you'll see as it goes back together it just kinda falls into line. It just looks intimidating now.

If I had a digi or a scanner I would post pics of when I did my swap...there was tape all over my damn engine bay and old engine...I went through 2 rolls of it making labels.

ya I was just thinking that I'm SURE that the helms has all of it pictured in the overview... not in the headgasket instructions but somewhere in the engine section there are detailed pics with the arrows showing where all the vacum lines go...
either way I just got my camera from my brother so I'll go take pics and post them in a bit.
here's my engine bay it doesn't look to me like it'll help much though.. I'll try to get better pics... my R-tarded brother left the camera on so the battery died...

Actually that pic helps more than you know. Anyone else with pics of an Si or ex engine bay that may help, please post. My Helms manual does have most of the vacuum lines and stuff, but its hard to tell from the diagrams. All I really need now is a close up of the intake manifold and distributor areas and I should be OK. Thanks for the help.
haha... I just saw your in hartford... I could've driven up there and showed you in person...
anyway I didn't have time to take the rest of the pics... I watch my kid full time and did a rear-disk conversion over the weekend... when I get home tomorrow around 2-3 I'll take some more pics and post them.
glad I could sort of help.

That really isn't that bad. I've seen much worse and had helped a guy put his entire bay back together without a helms and it looks just like yours. Tell you what I'll take several pics of my engine bay when I get home and email them to you. I have a 1993 Si with just a DC SR intake. What I would do if I were you though is put the head back on and most of the time, especially with a honda, you can tell what hose and bracket goes where just by size and length. So I would just try to re picture everything that I touched in my head.
Like I said I'll take several pictures when I get home and email them. I hope they help.

everything is in the helms. there are also vacuum line routing diagrams in there somewhere also. study it again.
it really looks more overwhelming then it really is.
Just start putting it back together, and before you know it... you'll be done.

yeah, you guys were right. I started putting it all back together and everything just fell into place. I had my car running in no time at all. I was sitting there thinking, "wow, was that it?". Thanks.

Good to hear you got your car running. Don't be scared to fugg something up. It's a Honda, not some wack *** transversal mounted v6 domestic POS.
