Header Stud STRIPPED! Heli-coil? Re-thread?
Like the topic says, one of my header stud stripped the thread. So im thinking do i need heli-coil to rethread it or can i just use a tap to rethread it? Also if anyone know what size is header stud size that would help a lot. I searched and found it was 8 x 1.25? Can someone confirm this? And if i need to use a rethreading kit where can i get it and approx cost would be great. Thanks
Drill the thread out, get all the metal shavings and stuff out, and just use an ordinary bolt instead. That's what my brother-in-law did once
**EDIT: I think he did this on a b18c1.

the stud is off the head already its just that it wont go back on tight because it just spins at the same place. Would i need a helicoil or just tap the head?
