Default head work

Took the head of my B16a2 last night due to lost compression. About to take it in today to have it reworked... price sounds kinda high tho. It is 500 to clean, inspect and competition valve job... Does that sound rite? also what else should i do while i have it apart.. im pushing 7 psi boost.. thinkin about lowering the compression with a thicker head gasket is that a good idea?

What exactly is defined as a "competition valve job"?

lowering the compression by the use of a head gasket is a great idea while you have the head already off. when your running a turbo or supercharger, the lower the compression the better
