What is the Y5 motor?? Sorry I'm not familiar with the D series world.. Is that the same thing as a Y7 or is that the HX block?? Anyways it should still be interchangable... Just wire it up as tho it was a Y8 motor... I'm not sure but if the Y5 is the HX then you probably don't have to rewire the IAC, VTEC, etc.. since it's already wired up correct... If that's the case tho then I don't see why you would be swapping heads... Anyways hope this helps... Like i said I normally work with B series and I don't really know a whole lot over on the SOHC side... Good Luck

Yea it's probably just a straight forward swap then... If have the HX tranny ditch that for a 96-2000 EX, **** that CVT weird gas mileage **** unless that's what you want it for... Are you looking for power gains from the head swap because I don't know how much you are really going to be looking at... Probably not all that much... Peace

Oh okay that's cool..... You gonna sleeve up the bottom end or just run lower boost?? I thought you were just maybe popping a Y8 head on the Y5 block hoping to gain some power which you may.... The boostin SOHC VTEC!!!!!!! Good Luck
