Default Head lift?

Well, story goes like this

Car in question is 94 Civic D16z6 turbo'd and all the goodies

Well, got it tuned the other day on 19psi and all is good a/f is tight everything looks nice.....IAT's are a little high but I believe thats cause i'm sucking right behind the radiator fan.

After the tune I went ride around boosting a few more times then at an idle I notice the ECT's started to rise. Limped it home and found that the coolant overflow res. was full....

I let the car cool down and put the coolant back in the radiator. Went do a few more 3rd gear pulls and the car did the same thing.....overflow was filled.

I drove the car to work this morning, didn't boost once and low and behold, no coolant overflow......

I checked compression across the board I got 170 so thats rules out the head gasket I would think. Wanted to put it out there to see if someone had any thoughts......I've been told the head is lifting under boost and to re-torque the ARP studs which I will do this weekend.

Anyone else have any ideas or would care to confirm the head lift theory?

Default Re: Head lift? (TinyTitan)

It seems more likely that it's just an issue with the cooling system itself.
