Default head gasket problem??

Is it at all possible for my engine to burn oil and soak the plugs witha bad head gasket. ???I am trying to find out why my motor is blowing oil. I took the exhaust mani off and 2-3cyl look oil coated. the motor only has 500mi on it. Lsvtec with 11.7:1

It's not likely to be a headgasket. A leakdown test will probably tell you where the problem is.

is that something that I can do myself or have a shop do. how much do those normaly run.
