Head gasket options with an o'ringed block
Hello all I was looking for some opinions on head gaskets to use on a B motor theat has an o'ringed block. Currently I have a cometics head gasket and I didnt do enough research an dwhen I looked on there site I saw that they recommend NOT to use there gaskets with o'ringed blocks. Right now the motor leaks a lot of oil into the cylinders. This has been happening since first start up. I'm hoping that the gasket might be the reason why the oil is getting into the cylinders. The motor only has maybe an hour or two of tune time on it.
not sure where to find it but they make this stuff for o-ringed blocks. is like a copper foil its goes on the top of the cylinders and torquing the head down on it crunches it down in the rings. hope this helps.
if the block has a copper o-ring an oem type gasket is fine. if it is a steel o-ring you need to receiver groove your head and run a copper gasket.
