I was trying to find an alternative to a Odyssey battery and went looking at Harley Davidson batteries today. They weigh 8 pound less than my current battery but have the same cca. Will one work?
I have no stereo nor power anything except for a Bosch Motorsport fuel pump that drains a bit.

CCA.....that's only one thing.
What about volts...is it a 14 volt battery? Or a 12?
Is it a closed cell?

 

It looked like a mini me of the battery in my car at the moment. Yeah I know there are more ratings than just cca. Never seen a 14 volt battery?!?!?!?

 

Look for a riding lawn mower battery. I think they sell them at K-Mart for about $25 and have 440 cca. I new a guy who ran his street car with one. Never tried it myself but worth looking into.

 

Does anyone know of someone that runs a Dynabat battery? I see them advertised now and then, but I don't know if there practical for daily use.

 

Yeah I wanted to run one of them but they are WAY to dear in Australia.....
